Indrani Sen is a Bengali Indian exponent of Rabindra Sangeet and Bengali songs. She studied at the Bengal Music College, a music training college affiliated with the prestigious University of Calcutta.The daughter of the singer Sumitra Sen, she trained in Rabindra Sangeet under the singer Debabrata Biswas, and subsequently received training in classical music from Bibhuti Dutta, and in Nazrul Geeti from Biman Mukherjee and Purabi Dutta.


She won BFJA's Best Female Playback Award- 1993 for the film "Shwet Patharer Thala" and BFJA's Best Female Playback Award- 1995 for the film "Sandhya Tara".

Her Hindi renditions of the songs of Tagore and Nazrul have been appreciated by music lovers. She has also cut a disc of Tagore in Gujarati and Assamese language, which have been highly appreciated by the non-Bengali listeners. Her live performances all over India and in various cities of the USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, SWITZERLAND, BANGLADESH, UK, KUWAIT, DUBAI and QATAR have won the hearts of many.

She has, to her credit, a large number of records, CDs and audio cassettes covering varied fields of Bengali music. She is a regular playback singer for Bengali and Hindi films (about 150 till date) and TV serials (175 till date) and recipient of many awards, including the Double Gold Disc, B.F.J.A. Award for three consecutive years, Uttamkumar and Hemanta Memorial Award, Ujala Anandalok Award, Michael Award, Ananda Sangeet Critics Award, Gouriprasanna Award, Lions Award, Pramathesh Barua Award, Alfa Gourab Award, Bharat Nirmaan Award and most acclaimed Sangeet Samman, Maha Samman and Banga Bhushan from the Government of West Bengal and many more such recognition. Lately, she has received the E-TV Sangeet Samman as the Best Female Singer of Rabindra Sangeet. Her Rabindra Sangeet album has also been awarded as the Best Album of the year 2013.
